About Me

Nice to meet you!

th. . Hi, I’m Eva! I’m a Polestar Pilates Practitioner and nationally certified Pilates teacher (NCPT) right here in Mt Juliet, TN.

I want to help you move better, feel better and have fun doing it. So you can enjoy your life to the fullest!

Why?

I spent nearly 30 years running a very successful writing and German translation business specialized in health, medicine and fitness. In 2006, I also began teaching yoga. I always loved movement and felt pretty healthy, but all that desk work in addition to old injuries took its toll. My neck and my arms hurt so much – all the way down to my fingertips – I thought I’d have to stop working. I loved my job – something had to change. But what?

After an agonizing years-long odyssey to everything from massage therapists to chiropractors to all kinds to doctors, an amazing physical therapist finally steered me towards Pilates in 2012. I never looked back. I am now free from my chronic shoulder, wrist and back pain and enjoying my work, my workouts and my life to the fullest!

I knew that what worked for me would work for others – at least if it was customized.

So I embarked on a rigorous, extensive teacher training through Polestar Pilates – one of the best programs out there. I continue to pursue continuing education and am always on a quest for more knowledge. And I’ve come to realize that while the principles are the same, every body needs something a little bit different. That’s why I create completely customized Pilates sessions for every client, every time.

I have helped people of all genders from age 30 to 90, desk workers and musicians, roadies and artists (this is Nashville, after all!), runners and power lifters, tennis, golf and pickleball players get out of pain, safely rehab their bodies and gain the strength and flexibility they need to do what they love. Whether that is playing with the grandkids, running a marathon, or living with less pain in everyday life.

My goal is to show you how to heal your body through movement.

That’s why I’ve created Sunroom Pilates – A Brighter Place. I want the space I love so much to be a bright spot in your life as well as in mine. I want you to feel welcome here, no matter what your age, ability, gender or size.

As a Polestar Pilates Practitioner, I have completed a rigorous 500-hour, comprehensive, yearlong training capped by an intensive 2-day exam. A nationally certified Pilates teacher (NCPT), I spent weeks studying for the national certification exam. I love what I do and continually seek to learn more about it. I have taught yoga since 2006 and made a living as a writer and specialized German translator since 1995. With graduate degrees in linguistics and public health, I back my teaching with deep knowledge of communication as well as the principles of health. This background, coupled with keen observation skills, a unique ability to listen and a deep love of all forms of movement and has equipped me with the one skill I have always sought: Helping others heal through movement.

I can’t wait to meet you and help you achieve your goals!

The Studio

My studio is a bright, open, welcoming place just south of Mt Juliet, TN. This sunny, tranquil space is perfect for reconnecting with your body and soul. In summer, you can often hear birds singing.

In addition to ample mat space, my space is furnished with a full array of professional, state-of-the-art Balanced Body Pilates equipment: Reformer (Allegro – the kind you’ve probably seen at studios around town), Trapeze Table (also known as “Cadillac”), Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and a Combo Chair. Various small props round out the studio setup.
